Upcycling & Design Intern at UME Studio
Are you obsessed with creating, sewing and designing – and do you love giving clothes a second life?Then we have an exciting opportunity for you! As the first year-round “closet sale by content creators” concept in the Netherlands, UME Studio is all about pre-loved, vintage and upcycled fashion. We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Upcycling Intern to strengthen our Atelier team.
What do we expect from you?
• Fluent in Dutch or English
• Confident sewing skills are a must; embroidery or pattern skills are a plus
• Able to transform existing garments into new designs (upcycling)
• Basic knowledge of fabrics and garment construction
• A passion for fashion and a strong eye for detail and finishing
• Creative, hands-on and not afraid of a challenge
• Up-to-date with the latest fashion trends
• Willingness to be present during events, holidays and weekends when needed
• Available 3-5 days a week
What will you do?
• Create unique, upcycled pieces in our Aatelier
• Work with pre-loved items, samples and deadstock to turn them into new designs
• Assist in developing small capsule collections and special collaborations
• Make custom pieces for influencers, photoshoots and fashion weeks – with the chance to see your creations worn by them
• Help with alterations & repairs for customers
• Support at and help organise the coolest events

Allround Creative Socials Intern at UME Studio
Are you crazy about TikTok, Instagram and everything content? Can you shoot and edit the most inspiring videos and create posts that fit perfectly within a brand identity? Then we are looking for you! UME Studio is looking for an enthusiastic Allround Creative Socials Intern to strengthen our team.
What do we expect from you?
• Independent, proactive and full of creative ideas
• Strong sense of aesthetics and branding
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Knowledge of and affinity with TikTok, Instagram & content creation
• Up-to-date with the latest trends in socials and fashion
• Flexibility and willingness to help during events, sometimes in weekends/holidays
• Comfortable in front of and behind the camera
• Available 3-5 days a week
What will you do?
• Create content for our webshop, Instagram and TikTok
• Think along about concepts and content formats – your own input is highly valued
• Learn to work within and help shape the UME brand identity
• Support and help organise content shoots
• Come up with and execute growth strategies for TikTok & Instagram
• Upload and optimise items on the webshop (Shopify)
• Support with creating and sending marketing emails
• Help keep our stores up-to-date and process new closet drops
You’ll get to see all sides of a modern fashion brand: from socials and e-mail marketing to what
happens in-store and online.

Retail Intern at UME Studio
Do you love helping customers find their perfect look and do you get energy from a beautifully organised store? As the first and only year-round “closet sale by content creators” concept in the Netherlands, UME Studio is all about pre-loved, vintage and upcycled fashion – and you’ll help bring that world to life on our shop floor.
What do we expect from you?
• Fluent in Dutch or English
• Flexibility and strong organisational skills
• A fresh perspective and new ideas to help grow our company
• A passion for retail and styling – you’re always up for a challenge
• Up-to-date with the latest fashion trends
• Willing to learn all aspects of the trade: from hanging and displaying to advising
customers
• Accurate and responsible when working with stock and the webshop
• Willingness to be present during events, holidays and weekends
• Available 2 to 5 days a week
What will you do?
• Welcome customers, explain the UME concept and give styling advice
• Keep the store looking fresh, tidy and on-brand at all times
• Think along about how we can improve the overall customer experience
• Make sure all store supplies are topped up (bags, tags, hangers, etc.)
• Keep the stockroom organised and structured
• Tag, steam and hang new items for the shop and webshop
• Help manage inventories for both webshop and store
• Help organise and work at the coolest events, expanding your network by collaborating
with influencers

Visual Merchandising & Styling Intern at UME Studio
Do you have a passion for styling and know how to turn a space into something creative? Then this internship at UME Studio might be perfect for you. As the first and only year-round closet sale (by content creators) concept in the Netherlands, UME Studio is all about pre-loved, vintage and upcycled fashion – and you’ll help bring that world to life in our stores.
What do we expect from you?
• Fluent in Dutch and/or English
• A strong sense of style and aesthetics
• You love fashion and are up-to-date with the latest trends
• An eye for detail: from colour combinations to hanger spacing
• Creative, proactive and not afraid to share your ideas
• Basic understanding of (or interest in) visual merchandising
• Willingness to learn and be hands-on – from steaming and hanging to full restyling
• Available at least 3–5 days a week for a period of 4 to 6 months
What will you do?
• Support in restyling and visual merchandising of our two UME stores on the Haarlemmerdijk
• Help with the full store refresh twice a week (usually Mondays and Thursdays)
• Process new stock: selecting, steaming, hanging and styling pre-loved items
• Think along about buying: you may join buying appointments and help select items that fit our concept
• Create eye-catching window displays and in-store product presentations
• Style mannequins and outfit combinations that reflect the UME aesthetic
• Develop VM and styling plans around events and holidays (e.g. Valentine’s Day, Easter, special collabs)
• Support with styling for photoshoots and content days (for social media & campaigns)
You won’t be thrown in at the deep end, but we do expect that you already have a feeling – or hidden talent – for
styling and visual merchandising.
